ABOUT THE ARTIST
Oscar Hernandez Soriano is a versatile artist who finds his motives in characters caught in daily life situations. His paintings are mainly figurative with elements of impressionism. He also makes sculptures in, for example, papier-maché.
Oscar was born in Havana, Cuba. His mother was an artist too, which led Oscar into the path of art. He has studied at the College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm (Konsthögskolan) as well as in Madrid (Bellas Artes).
Oscar lived for many years in Spain before he came to live in Sweden in the seventies, and has had many exhibitions in different countries since 1975. He has regularly exhibited in Sweden as well as in Spain, France, Argentina, Cuba, El Salvador, USA etc. Besides his daily artistic creation, Oscar also teaches painting and sketching in art schools in Stockholm.
